Welcome to the first online newsletter for members of the QinetiQ Pension Scheme!

We’ve provided some important information to help you understand how the Scheme is doing and what you can do to make the most of the benefits it provides.

Our Summary Funding Statement contains a snapshot of the financial health of the Scheme. In it we tell you how the money we’ve got measures up against the money we think we’ll need to pay benefits to members now and into the future. I’m pleased to report that the Scheme is currently in a strong position.

We’ve also got some reminders of the online services available to you as a Scheme member – and a prompt to remember to keep your Expression of Wish details up to date. This tells us who you’d like to receive any benefits payable from the Scheme in the event of your death.

There’s a round-up of the latest news from the world of pensions, including some changes to the taxation limits that apply when you take your benefits. We’ve also got some tips on how to spot and avoid pension scams, and how to cope with the current cost-of-living crisis.
